Disney Infinity, Saints Row 4, Mario & Luigi And FF14 Were Among August’s Top-10 Sellers

The Nintendo 3DS was the best-selling videogame system during the month of August in North America for the fourth month in a row, according to the NPD Group. While Nintendo have not shared August’s sales figures for the device, Microsoft report that Xbox 360 was the best-selling home console for the month at 96,000 units sold.

 

Overall, hardware sales were down 40% as compared to August 2012.

 

On the software front, Saints Row IV, Disney Infinity, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist were launched during the month of August. Here’s the top-10 software sales chart for the month:

According to the New York Times, Disney Infinity sold about 294,000 starter kits during August, so everything you see below that game on the chart sold less. Additionally, the NPD Group add that Tales of Xillia was ranked #11 on the chart for August, but declined to provide sales figures.
