Tokyo-based Web Technology Com Corp first shared details of their digital manga creation suite, Comipo!, in October. The suite revolves around the simple idea of making it possible for anyone with a PC to create manga by themselves, or for professionals to use it as a storyboarding tool.
The software comes with a set of default 3D models that the user can use, but you can also create your own custom character models. Take a look at the video above for an idea of how this works.
This past week, Web Technology Com Corp officially debuted Comipo! at the price of 9,700 yen (6,700 for the download version), alongside an announcement that that they are presently developing an English version of the software, with plans to release Comipo! in English by Spring 2011.
Web Technology Com Corp also plan to support Comipo! continually through downloadable assets such as new character models and backgrounds in the future.
