Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode Reveals New Demons And Angels

With Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode’s release on the horizon (literally) in Japan on June 27, information about many new characters has been released by Namco Bandai, focusing mostly on the “Scheme of the Demon Lords” arc.

Due to Barbamon’s conquering of the Digitower, many Digimon who do not think well of this situation have also appeared.  One of these is Ophanimon, a female angel Digimon. Along with Seraphimon and Cherubimon, the three are called the Three Holy Angels who guard the Kernel (interpreted as the Domain of God). Ophanimon is a Holy Mother-like figure representing God’s infinite love and benevolence.

In contrast, two other Demon Lords are also shown to appear.  The first of these is Belphemon: Sleep Mode. Despite his cute appearance, he is the Demon Lord of Sloth. In this mode, he is sleeping in the Dark Area because of a lockdown put on his enormous power by the Digital World System.

The second Demon Lord is the enormous Leviamon, the Demon Lord of Envy.  It looks like a red alligator with jaws said to be able to swallow the entire Digital World.  Usually sleeping at the bottom of the Net Ocean near the Dark Area, when he wakes up he can stare down any Digimon, be they demon or angel.

In addition to these Digimon, there’s also a new human character that you probably recognize. Or rather, she’s already appeared before, but this time she is physically in the Digital World for some reason. After having lost in the Coliseum to the protagonist, she persistently trails after him, challenging him to a rematch.  This exasperates Sebastian and he asks them to stop her rampage.

More information has also been revealed about the Bodyguard system.  The bar where you can hire these Digimon mercenaries is located in Night Canyon. After hiring a bodyguard, the Digimon will wait at a place you set until you go and talk to him. You can set the amount of time you want to hire the Digimon for—12, 24, or 36 hours—and the price you pay changes accordingly.

Whenever you change maps, you’ll get to choose whether to stop the service prematurely. When your Digimon partner dies, when you lose a battle, and when you use the Autopilot item to return to town, the bodyguard will leave your party.

Finally, it has been revealed you can obtain items through QR codes.  In Jijimon’s house, after a certain point, you can activate the option to use the 3DS camera to read these codes. These codes will be released on the official site after the game releases. One example is a “basic starter pack for beginning adventurers”.

Another code can be found in the guidebook that will be sold on the same day as the game release, according to the Shueisha products site.  This guidebook covers the entire story—new and old—subquests, Coliseum battles, how to raise every Digimon, and also features interviews with the character designer, Suzuhito Yasuda, and the artist of the currently serializing manga, Kouhei Fujino.

The book also includes a poster containing X-Antibody Digimon and the Demon Lords and a QR code that gives 20 copies of an exclusive item that multiplies the effect of your training by 1.5.
