Blizzard shared a tweet that had fans excited for a possible Diablo III port to Switch, but it only took a few hours for the company to say that it isn’t the case, however, a source close to Eurogamer says otherwise.

In case you missed it, it all started with the above clip showing a Diablo night light being repeatedly switched on and off, which felt like a fairly deliberate teaser for a “Switch” port. However, the excitement only lasted a few hours as Blizzard followed up with a message saying “As of now, we do not have any current plans to announce Diablo for Switch.”

According to sources from Eurogamer, the “project is very much in production.” The sources couldn’t confirm whether the Diablo III expansions Reaper of Souls and Rise of the Necromancer would be included.

Blizzard described its earlier tweet as “a fun engagement piece,” but the Eurogamer sources said they were surprised to see it as the reveal for the game is reportedly several months off.

In any case, we’ll take it with a grain of salt as we do with all rumors for the time being. Until then, we can dream about how awesome Diablo III on Switch sounds right now.

Diablo III is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
