Devolver Digital announced that despite the canceling of E3 and most other major events in 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Devolver Direct 2020 “conference” will still be shown. Considering that Devolver Digital’s conferences are pre-recorded, this shouldn’t be especially surprising.
For the past few years, Devolver Digital’s E3 conferences have focused on showing off the company’s published games alongside sub-plots which fans have lovingly dubbed the “Devolver Cinematic Universe.” This year is likely to be no different, and Devolver said that this year’s “should be a good one” as well. Games shown off last year included Fall Guys, Carrion, Enter the Gungeon: House of the Gundead, and updates on The Messenger and My Friend Pedro. They were also the ones who announced, and later published, FromSoftware’s Metal Wolf Chaos XD back in 2019.
That said, it’s currently unknown when the Devolver Direct 2020 will be livestreamed and if it will even be streamed around the time when E3 would normally be held in June. Whenever it will be, it’ll likely be after these uncertain times have passed, especially as release dates may have seen delays as well. For now, you might want to catch up on last year’s episode here:
Devolver Digital’s Devolver Direct will be held as planned.
