YouTube channel GameXplain recently had hands-on time with Detective Pikachu, and it is now known that the game will feature roughly triple the amount of content compared to the original Detective Pikachu: Birth of a New Duo release in 2016.

This is because the game has around 9 chapters to clear, and the contents of the first release are split into Chapter 1-3. This means that the total playtime of the game will be around 9-12 hours long.

The amiibo functionality for the giant Detective Pikachu amiibo has also been revealed, being an unlock function for any Pika Prompt hints that players may want to recheck. It unlocks all the Pika Prompts that could have been triggered up until where the player currently is in the story.

GameXplain also interviewed the director and producer of Detective Pikachu, which you can see below:

Detective Pikachu will be available on Nintendo 3DS this month on March 23, 2018. The game supports English, Japanese, French, Spanish, Italian, German, and Chinese subtitles, and Japanese and English voice acting.
