According to a Tweet from the official Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles Twitter account, it sold and shipped a million copies within two weeks of the game’s official launch. The game came out on October 14,2021 in Japan and October 15, 2021 worldwide. However, players with the Digital Deluxe Edition had access to it starting from October 13, 2021.

The same Tweet reminds players of the free DLC update that will add new playable characters to the game. So far, Akaza and Rui have been announced. Both of them are Twelve Kizuki demons who proved themselves troublesome foes for Tanjiro and Kyojuro. In total, six characters will appear in-game as part of free updates.
The Demon Slayer anime is available on streaming services such as Crunchyroll and Funimation. Right now, the anime is airing the Mugen Train arc. From December 5, 2021, Demon Slayer will enter the Entertainment District Arc.
Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC.
