A Minecraft game that attempts to change up the classic formula is on the way. The Minecraft Dungeons release date is May 26, 2020. That’s when the Diablo-like single-player and multiplayer action-RPG will make its debut.

In Minecraft Dungeons, players are attempting to delve into different dungeon levels to fight the Arch-Illiger and rescue the villagers the villain captured along the way. You’ll be fully equipped with an array of weapons (and be able to find more) as you head further down into the depths and attempt to defeat the menace’s minions.

Someone could theoretically go through the entirety of the game alone. However, it has been specifically designed with multiplayer in mind. Up to four people can work together to fight against the monsters and attempt to get as much loot as possible. While cross-play won’t be available at launch, it will be a free update.

Here’s a trailer to act as a refresher for how the action-RPG will play. It begins by focusing on the single-player element, before showing what it will be like in a group.

Minecraft Dungeons will come to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on May 26, 2020. This means it will meet its promised Spring 2020 release window. Also, if someone is an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, they will find it available in the lineup immediately after it launches.
