Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding has a very definite aesthetic. Many characters have Odradeks to sense BTs. People like Cliff and Higgs cried black tears in the game and in trailers. The environment is often bleak, due to the Timefall phenomenon. Now, an Instagram user named Vdvchnk has created a Death Stranding Instagram filter that adds these elements to people’s portraits.
The Death Stranding Instagram filter has started getting some notoriety online. The creator first posted an image of it in action on November 22, 2019 on Twitter. Kojima has seen it and been retweeting images taken by people using it. When in effect with a live picture you take in the app, the subject gets different eyes, black tears, an Odradek, and has Timefall all around them.
Here’s a clip of the Death Stranding Instagram filter’s creator using the filter.

The effect also works on animals.
