The Metro had a chance to speak with Deadly Premonition director, Hidetaka “SWERY” Suehiro, at Gamescom, where they asked what he was up to next. Swery sportingly revealed that he’s tinkering with both new and Deadly Premonition-related games.

“I can’t talk about everything because there’s a lot of opportunities right now,” Swery replied. “But what I can say is that I’m making a storyline for a completely new game.”

“And also I’m working on different types of Deadly Premonition-related projects. Trying to think of ways to create a sequel, that’s definitely on the table, trying to create a prequel is also definitely on the table; and also a project to have more people play Deadly Premonition.”

Elaborating on that last point about getting more people to play Deadly Premonition, one example of how he might do this, Swery says, is to create a director’s cut version with better graphical quality than the original game so it would appeal to a wider audience.

After the success of Deadly Premonition, Swery says, western publishers have expressed an interest in his games, and he’s in the process of creating new concepts for them.
