During the Capcom Next Summer 2024 showcase on July 1, 2024, there was a trailer for the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, which showed some information on DLC and, more crucially, its release date. Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster will come out on September 19, 2024 and pre-orders are now open.
You can watch the trailer here:
The trailer starts with a history of Dead Rising’s releases before showing the classic Frank West zombie-killing action. It also shows the differences in model between the original game and the remaster. Characters look slightly different and there are improved graphics. For example, you can see the curls and details in the infamous granny’s poodle. In the original game, the dog just had lumps of fluff around its body.
During the stream, there was more information from the development team. Ryosuke Murai, the director, states that it’s a remaster. But considering how much work they put into it, it’s really more of a remake. The game will be able to run at 4K/60fps and there will be QoL updates such as the ability to move while aiming. You’ll also be able to auto-save. The NPC AI is better than before and the UI is more intuitive. Finally, the game has been dubbed in 9 different languages and will be available in 14.
As for DLC, the Digital Deluxe version of the game will come with a pack that contains 17 costumes for Frank and 17 BGM tracks you can play in the mall. This will be available when the game comes out. Some of the costumes look quite bizarre, such as what looks like a robot and a bunny suit.
Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster will come out on the PS5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC via Steam on September 19, 2024. This is the digital version.
