Here are some highlights from the interview with Dead or Alive Xtreme: Venus Vacation director Yasunori Sakuda:
- “I thought maybe there are many who play on weekends, but there’s actually an overwhelming amount more who play every day.”
- “I truly apologize about the rumors that surfaced about the game nearing its end of service due to the server reduction.”
- The director doesn’t rule out adding swimsuits available in the overseas version of the game to the Japanese version. However, Koei Tecmo hasn’t decided on when it will happen.
- “Let me say one thing. It is much more difficult to implement a series character than it is to create an original character.”
- For example, Leifang has a loved one in Jann Lee, so it’s tougher to write her story. Meanwhile, original characters come into Dead or Alive Xtreme: Venus Vacation with a blank slate.
- “I feel that it is necessary to have stories that deepen their relationships with the owner.”
- Lastly, the director said that if they were to add Dead or Alive Xtreme 3‘s VR Mode, it would be the same. However, the team is currently working on an MR (mixed reality) content project. While it is currently in the research stage, the idea is to make it feel like the characters are in your room.
Dead or Alive Xtreme: Venus Vacation is available for PC in Japan and Asia. In case you missed it, an Azur Lane collaboration is coming later this month.
