Players will control the Beheaded as they infiltrate Dracula’s castle. They’ll team up with Richter and Alucard, as well as acquire many Castlevania-themed abilities and weapons, such as the Throwing Axe, Vampire Killer, and more. Abilities like Alucard’s teleportation and the crosses will also make an appearance. The Beheaded will take on iconic bosses from the Castlevania series like Dracula and Death himself. The expansion itself adds two more environmental biomes themed after locales from the series, and feature new enemies and weapons of an original design in addition to the ones drawn from Castlevania inspiration.

Motion Twin will sell the Dead Cells Return to Castlevania as a single purchase of $9.99 for owners of the base game. For those just jumping in a bundle of the base game and Castlevania DLC will be sold for $22.99, while the Dead Cells: Melody of Pain Bundle sells the base game, Return to Castlevania, and all other DLC together for $31.99. The expansion launches on March 6, 2023 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
