More Danganronpa news is on the way leading up to the series’ 10th anniversary on November 25, 2020, and Spike Chunsoft has begun laying out plans for regularly scheduled reveals. As announced in Famitsu, a series of announcements are on the way. The company will hold a series of video segments each month online, and the date for the May 2020 one will be revealed at the Famitsu and Dengeki Game Awards 2019 on April 18, 2020 at 3:30am PT/6:30am ET/7:30pm JST. Details about what could and will be shown during each presentation have yet to be announced. However, the reveal did confirm Danganronpa news about games and different sorts of products celebrating the series will be appearing in honor of its anniversary. In addition, both Spike Chunsoft and TooKyo Games both mentioned working together to celebrate the Danganronpa 10th anniversary with “many projects” in their 2020 New Year’s cards.
The first Danganronpa game, Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, appeared on the PlayStation Portable in Japan on November 25, 2010. However, it ended up taking four more years before the PlayStation Vita version was localized by NIS America. Since then, the series has gone multiplatform and appeared on systems like the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Portable, PlayStation Vita, PC, and even mobile devices. Three main games are available, and we’ve also seen spin-offs like Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls, Cyber Danganronpa VR: The Class Trial, and Danganronpa Unlimited Battle. It also received anime adaptations and both manga and light novel adaptations.
