Jeong Eui-jin has replaced Lee Woo-ri as the Korean voice actor for Cyno in Genshin Impact. This is due to Lee Woo-Ri passing away on March 14, 2024. [Thanks, HXG_Diluc!]
Lee Woo-ri passed away earlier this year at the young age of 24 years old. His cause of death is unknown and his funeral was a private affair. He debuted at the age of 21 and was the youngest male professional voice actor in South Korea. Aside from appearing as Cyno in Genshin Impact, he also voiced characters in Case Closed, Crayon Shin-chan, and more. Fellow voice actors in South Korea expressed their grief at the time and Alejandro Saab, who voices Cyno in the English version of Genshin Impact, also shared his condolences.
Jung Eui-Jin, who is Cyno’s new voice actor in Genshin Impact, is in the game already as Heizou. Since the Korean version of Genshin Impact will credit both Jeong Eui-jin and Lee Woo-ri for Cyno, you’ll still be able to hear Lee’s performance in the game. As of the time of writing, Lee Woo-ri’s name is still the only one in Cyno’s profile. The addition of Jeong Eui-jin may appear after the upcoming Version 4.7 update. Sethos’s Korean trailer has a brief clip of Cyno talking about how Sethos doesn’t want to play Genius Invokation with him. You can hear Jeong’s version of Cyno at the 0:25 timestamp.
Genshin Impact is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices.
