Cyberpunk 2077 has a brand new ending for players to explore in the Phantom Liberty DLC, but it requires the completion of a few missions like “Through Pain to Heaven.” This relatively brief quest in the RPG only activates if you pick certain choices in the expansion. Here’s how to unlock the quest and what you need to do in order to complete it.
How do I unlock the Cyberpunk 2077 Through Pain to Heaven mission?
Note: Full spoilers ahead for this mission and past ones.
Before you can even do the Cyberpunk 2077 Through Pain to Heaven mission, you must unlock it. To do this, you need to have completed the Killing Moon quest first. However, even that storyline has some prerequisites you must complete before you can even access it.
To unlock the Killing Moon quest in Cyberpunk 2077, you must save Songbird from Kurt Hansen. Although you are given the choice to kill her, picking this option will ultimately lead you to be blocked from the Pain to Heaven ending mission.
After you save Songbird, you have to make the tough choice to hand her over to Solomon Reed. Giving the character up will finally complete the Killing Moon quest, giving you access to the new ending and the “Through Pain to Heaven” mission.
How to complete the Cyberpunk 2077 Through Pain to Heaven mission
It is quite a short quest, but here is what you need to do:
- After you complete the Killing Moon quest and unlock Through Pain to Heaven, you need to wait at least 24 hours in-game. You can sleep or skip in the main menu to do this.
- If you wait 24 hours and the next objective still doesn’t show up, wait a few more days or complete another side gig or mission to speed up the process.
- Once ready, Solomon Reed will call you.
- Head to the marked gas station on the map near the Piez fast travel point and speak with Solomon.
- He will let you know about your upcoming surgery, and you can pick whatever conversation choices you want.
- You will say goodbye potentially forever to Solomon Reed.
- Talk to Johnny Silverhand for a cutscene.
- Wait another 24 hours or potentially longer to hear back from Solomon Reed to complete this quest. You will now be on your way to the finale of the campaign.
