Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty is the sole DLC expansion for the massive CD Projekt Red RPG. It brings with it a ton of new additions. One of the most important is the new character Solomon Reed to the Cyberpunk 2077 cast, played by Idris Elba, who demands the attention for most of the new DLC storyline due to his performance and writing.
Who is Solomon Reed in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty?
Solomon Reed is the most important new character added in the Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty DLC. Fans will likely recognize his voice, which adds the electrifying A-list talent of Idris Elba to the futuristic RPG. No longer is Keanu Reeves the only superstar in the game’s cast.
Idris Elba’s Solomon Reed is one of the best parts of the entire DLC, and certainly one of my favorites. He is an agent for the New United States of America’s FIA, or Federal Intelligence Agency. Think of him as basically like a CIA spy agent, but in the future. He is your main spy partner during the Phantom Liberty storyline.
As you investigate the events of the new area of Night City, Dogtown, and take on the various missions there, you’ll often team up with Reed. You’ll also get to know his fellow agent, Songbird, as you fight alongside and speak with both of them. You spend a fair bit of time in the Phantom Liberty DLC with Solomon Reed, who is one of the best characters in the entire game, in my opinion.
Without going too deep, you’ll learn more about his past, which isn’t as bright and cheery as you might believe. In fact, his connections with the NUSA government and his own leaders isn’t as clear as it might seem. Your relationship with him is at the heart of what happens in the DLC’s storyline.
The Cyberpunk 2077 role isn’t the only video game-related role for Idris Elba. He also played Knuckles in Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
