The tabletop RPG is officially titled Cowboy Bebop, the Role-Playing Game. According to the press release, the game will let players create their own stories and scenarios of bounty hunters in space, and is accompanied by “one of the best anime soundtracks in history.” Furthermore, the game will be available in English, French, and Italian at the initial launch. If the Kickstarter campaign succeeds, the game will be the first official tabletop RPG in the Cowboy Bebop franchise.

Don’t Panic Games has published various other anime-inspired board games in the past, including Naruto: Ninja Arena, Attack on Titan: The Last Stand, and Tokyo Ghoul: Bloody Masquerade. The company also previously released Cowboy Bebop: Space Serenade!, a deck-building game where you can play as one of the four members of the Bebop crew. Similarly, Mana Project Studio has worked on other successful TRPG Kickstarter projects such as Journey to Ragnarok and Historia.

In other news, Netflix is planning to release the live-action adaptation of Cowboy Bebop on November 19, 2021. Recently, it shared the series’ opening credits which featured the original opening song “Tank!” from the anime.

Cowboy Bebop, the Role-Playing Game will launch on Kickstarter sometime in 2022. If successfully funded, the game will release at the end of 2022.
