Eric “Concerned Ape” Barone noted on social media that work will begin on Haunted Chocolatier again once the Stardew Valley 1.6 patch is available on consoles and mobile devices. The developer also mentioned being “eager to get back to work on it.”
Here is the exact statement, which mentioned the reason for the current pause in work on the next title.
Haunted Chocolatier was first announced back in October 2021. Barone announced a break in its development in April 2023 to prepare 1.6 for Stardew Valley.
Barone also explained why there is a delay between the Stardew Valley 1.6 patch showing up on consoles, PCs, and mobile devices in another reply. The developer cited how quickly PC patches can be released compared to ones for consoles, due to certification and verification processes. Finishing and perfecting the patch for that platform can make subsequent ones’ roll out stronger.
Said quick patches are coming out rather frequently for the PC. For example, 1.6.2 is already available for PCs, and Barone has been discussing 1.6.3 on social media.
Stardew Valley is available for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PCs, mobile devices, and the PlayStation Vita. Haunted Chocolatier is in development for PCs.
