While details regarding the collaboration have yet to be revealed, the announcement trailer does feature several key characters from Clannad. This includes Nagisa Furukawa, Fuko Ibuki, and Tomoyo Sakagami. How these characters could potentially be obtained, be it through event completion or a limited time gacha, is still unknown.

Higurashi When They Cry Mei is a mobile game set within the universe of Higurashi When They Cry. The mobile game features a cast of returning characters from the visual novel and an entirely new cast. Returning characters include Rena, Satako, and Keiichi. Series creator Ryukishi07 is attached to the mobile title, having collaborated during the development of the game. However, the game is still only available in Japanese. There is no word on a potential localization.

Higurashi When They Cry Mei is immediately available for Android and iOS devices to Japanese audiences.
