Chronicle of Ruin is looking to put players in charge of large-scale armies as well as the individual soldiers within them.
Inspired by the Ogre Battle franchise, Chronicle of Ruin will have players directing squads of units, pushing them toward combat with the enemy, keeping people safe, or fleeing with their lives intact. Once a squad is engaged, the game moves in to the individual units, letting players command them in turn-based, JRPG-style battles.
The developer promises varied classes of units that can go in each squad, ranging from the game’s 28 standard classes to its ten hero-tier classes. Players can also choose how to equip and grow each unit, ensuring their squad works exactly how they want it to. Players can even create the gear that goes onto the unit using the game’s crafting system.
Chronicle of Ruin is expected to release sometime in 2017.
