Chocobo GP Update Fixes Its Matchmaking Problems

A new Chocobo GP update is out now, and this one fixes matchmaking issues for multiplayer races. Ahead of the fix, there could be issues when playing. This would mean people might experience a long wait before matching or there would be issues during races. All of them are now remedied. A bug that would let people “fly” by exploiting a jumping bug is also gone now.

First, a number of issues ended up being fixed because an error that would come up during Chocobo GP was fixed. The problem would come up when a match would start. When the data wouldn’t be properly handled, people might not see the exact lap they were on, have issues driving, or fewer than 8 people in a race. Now that 1.0.5 is out, that won’t happen. It also means that the game will try to place you in a new match again faster.

As for the exploit, this means Time Attack will be fixed. The bug meant people would be able to improve their times. This is because after jumping, they could then float for a bit. All Ghost Data that used it is now invalid. Records with it will be removed too.

Chocobo GP is available on the Nintendo Switch. Both paid and lite versions are out now. On May 16, 2022, the first season will end. FFVII Cloud is available as the first Prize Pass reward until then. Past patches fixed issues with the Gold Saucer and adjusted Prize Pass requirements.
