At E3 last year, Rez creator Tetsuya Mizuguchi’s studio, Q Entertainment, revealed a spiritual successor to the Dreamcast game by the name of Child of Eden. Published by Ubisoft, while Child of Eden supports regular controllers, Q have emphasized Microsoft’s Kinect controller as the control scheme of choice.

Q Entertainment showed the game off at the Penny Arcade Expo in Boston this past weekend, where they also announced a release date for the game: Child of Eden hits the Xbox 360 on June 14th in the U.S. No date for the PlayStation 3 version has been announced yet.

When we interviewed Mizuguchi last year at E3, he told us that Child of Eden is the culmination of many of his life’s recurring themes. Even the music for the game was composed by his musical outfit, Genki Rockets.

Update: Post updated to reflect that PlayStation Move support hasn’t officially been announced at this time.
