Checking out God of War: Chains of Olympus

God of War: Chains of Olympus wasn’t playable at Sony’s Gamers Day, instead one of the team members from Ready at Dawn studios demoed the game. God of War: Chains of Olympus is set before the events of God of War where Kratos carries out the will of the gods. Kratos has his Plume of Prometheus, the same three hit combo from the PS2 games where he slams both Blades of Athena into the ground and the shoulder button move where he spins the blades in a wide circle around him. There was a new move where Kratos spins the Blades of Athena vertically, but Ready at Dawn seems real quiet about talking about what’s new. Although I was given a hint by Ru Weerasuriya that there will be a new weapon in Chains of Olympus that is pivotal to the God of War storyline. After Kratos ripped through a few soldiers he faced a Basilisk at the end of the demo where the first button pressing mini game showed up. It was easier than the mini games in the PS2 games since only the X button was used to slam the Basilisk into the wall. I asked if all the minigames were going to be that easy and I was told that other ones will use multiple buttons just like God of War for the PS2.
