Check Out Umihara Kawase BaZooKa!!’s Challenge Mode Gameplay Here

Over this weekend, Studio Saizensen held a demo event for their upcoming versus platforming title Umihara Kawase BaZooKa!!. While we’ve known that the competitive versus mode against up to three other players is the main mode of the game, the latest event also reveals that there is a Challenge Mode for those who want to work together instead. The video above contains around 17 minutes of gameplay, with Challenge Mode directly being selectable from the main menu. Once again, up to four players can play Challenge Mode together at once. In Challenge Mode, your goal is to wipe out waves of enemies and collect coins that they drop in order to progress, similar to titles like Bubble Bobble or Snow Bros. Each stage will require you to collect a certain amount of coins for you to complete it.

Each world has ten stages within them, and at the final stage is a giant boss that all four players will fight together. Because fighting enemies is the main feature of this mode, you’ll need to use different tactics compared to previous games, where the main goal was exploration.

The new features available in the game, such as special moves, are all available for players to use. There is no friendly fire in this mode.

Umihara Kawase BaZooKa!! will debut on the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on May 28, 2020. The game is also set to release in Asia.
