Back when Capcom went over the Street Fighter V: Champion Edition updates on August 5, 2020, people got quite a surprise. Four of the five DLC fighters in Season Pass V were revealed, and one turned out to be a Rival Schools crossover. While there was one initial piece of Street Fighter V Akira Kazama art, the game’s official Twitter account shared a picture with two more sketches.

The initial images call back to her original Rival Schools and Project Justice looks. Akira has the same hairstyle, and she’s once again wearing a tank top, her padded gloves, and her heavy boots. She also has her biker jacket tied around her waist. (We will have to wait and see if one of her additional costumes in Street Fighter V will reference Powered Akira.)

Akira appeared in both of the Rival Schools games. In the original, she was a Gedo High School representative. In the sequel, the standard version of her attended Seijyun High School, but the Powered Akira secret character remained “loyal” to Gedo. She used the Bajiquan fighting style in her original games.

Street Fighter V: Champion Edition is available for the PlayStation 4 and PC. The Street Fighter V Akira DLC is expected to arrive sometime in Summer 2021 alongside five costumes for the heroine.
