Capcom shared many more details about what it’s doing with Street Fighter 6 in its special TGS 2022 stream last night, and among them was the beginning of Street Fighter 6 World Tour, the story mode for the game. Mostly featuring stylized text and a monologue to establish the tone of Street Fighter 6, the World Tour opening movie importantly reveals the full launch-day roster for the game. 18 characters will be available at launch. Many have been confirmed before, but a few are new or have yet to be detailed.

Here’s the Street Fighter 6 launch roster list, in alphabetical order.

  • Blanka

  • Chun-Li

Players can also add a 19th fighter – one they create themselves to play Street Fighter 6 World Tour mode with. The beginning of World Tour mode was demonstrated during Capcom’s stream. Players start by joining Buckler Basic, a training program run by Luke. There they enter character creation and choose one of many available appearance options. Players can create anything from a human-looking avatar to something completely off the wall. Their training session with Luke and an NPC avatar functions as the game’s basic control tutorial. Following that, they’re told to “Hit the streets” to roam Metro City in search of a good fight and new techniques.

Street Fighter 6 is in development and slated for release in 2023 on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. PC and newer consoles will receive a closed beta in October 2022. Registrations are open now.
