Bit.Trip Runner finally drops the abstract aesthetic of the previous games and gives you control of the enigmatic Commander Video. While it doesn’t do away with the retro style that inspired the series, unlike its predecessors, Runner isn’t a rhythm-based game — it’s a platformer.

 

The catch is, Commander Video doesn’t stop running, and it’s up to the player to keep him from crashing into obstacles. For Runner’s, soundtrack Gaijin Games recruited chiptune punk-band Anamanaguchi.
