Climax Studios has released Housemarque’s PlayStation 4 shooter Resogun on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in Europe. It comes to North America on PS3 and PS Vita on December 23rd.
Resogun was originally made specifically for the PS4 hardware, so bringing it to older PlayStation consoles has meant that some technical compromises had to be made. The biggest of which is a drop in frame rate from 60FPS on the PS4 to a locked 30 FPS on PS3 and PS Vita.
The good news is that if you already own Resogun on PS4 then you don’t need to pay anything more for it. It also has cross-save functionality with the PS3 and PS Vita versions.
Additionally, the PS Vita version has ad-hoc co-op. Plus, it uses the handheld’s touch features as well as the face buttons so you can further customize the controls how you see fit. If you like, you can throw the humans you’re saving by swiping your fingers on the rear touch pad.
Resogun is a colorful shmup about rescuing the survivors of distant galactic colonies from an alien invasion force. It features a diverse set of devastating weapons including lasers, missiles, overdrive and nova-bombs.
