Cattails, the cat life simulation where you wander through the woods, help your colony thrive, and perhaps even find another cat to fall in love and raise a family with, has received update 1.3 on PCs.  After downloading the latest patch, you will be able to date four previously unromanceable NPCs, take on daily tasks, and earn three new active skills.

The four new dateable cats are Cattails four doctors. The Custom Colony’s Galen, Forest Colony’s Doc, Mountain Colony’s Luna, and Mystic Colonys Krampy can now all be romanced. The official announcement does not note if this means people might actually get to see Krampy’s face.

The new Cattails Task Board system and skills are connected. After the update, Task Boards will appear in the three original colonies and can be built in a player’s Custom Colony. A new Task will appear on the board each day, with Task Tokens given as a reward for completing these optional quests. Among these rewards are the Bug Bait, Pinecone Toss, and Shield Active Skills. Bug Bait will temporarily draw bugs to your cat when used in spring, summer, or fall. Pinecone Toss is a ranged attack for when you are participating in a battle over territory with another colony. Shield offers you a few seconds of invulnerability when used during a fight with another cat.

Here is the official Cattails update 1.3 trailer showing off the new content.

Cattails is available for the Nintendo Switch and PC. Update 1.3 will be coming to the Nintendo Switch in the first quarter of 2019.
