It appears the Castlevania season 3 debut date may have been revealed by Netflix in the most subtle sort of way. The Netflix Nordic Twitter account released a list of shows and movies that will be coming to the service in the coming days. Among them was Castlevania season 3, which was given a supposed December 1, 2019 release date. However, that has since been proven false.

No new trailer has been released alongside this confirmation, and only the Netflix Nordic account has listed it as a December 2019 release. The Netflix US, India, Latin America, Philippines, and UK & Ireland accounts don’t mention the third season of Castlevania.

Update: Samuel Deats, the director of the Castlevania Netflix series, has issued a statement regarding the alleged launch date for the third season. On Twitter, he noted, “HAH, that’s news to me and would certainly be scary considering we’re still working on the last episode of the season.”

Netflix has sometimes had tweets listing improper dates before. For example, ahead of The Witcher series’ release date reveal, one of the Twitter accounts posted a tweet suggesting it would launch on December 17, 2019. Netflix later came forward to confirm that was false. It has not issued a retraction about Castlevania season 3 yet.

The first season of Castlevania appeared on Netflix on July 7, 2017. Its four episodes followed Trevor Belmont, Sypha, and Alucard as the three gathered together and prepared to fight Dracula. The eight-episode second season, which launched on October 26, 2018, followed the trio as they pursued Dracula in earnest. The third season will have ten more episodes.

In December 2019, plenty of game-related shows are heading to Netflix. Sonic X will appear on December 1, 2019. Also, the much-hyped The Witcher series will appear on December 20, 2019.
