From May 8, 2024, all V Rising players will be able to face off against original Castlevania protagonist Simon Belmont. The developers promise that his appearance will feature a wide array of holy weaponry, taken straight from the original series. This will, of course, include the Vampire Killer whip, which players will be able to take for themselves if they defeat him.

In addition, a special Legacy of Castlevania Premium Pack will be added to the game. This will include cosmetics, allowing players to customize both their vampire and their castle with items from Konami’s series. This will also include two music tracks from the Castlevania games, rearranged by V Rising’s composer Aleksandria Migova.

This is not the first time that Castlevania has featured in a crossover with an indie game. In 2023, Motion Twin released an expansion for Dead Cells called Return to Castlevania. It featured the game’s main protagonist, The Beheaded, teaming up with Alucard and Richter Belmont to fight Dracula.

V Rising is out now in Early Access for PC. A full release and PS5 port are planned for sometime in 2024. The Legacy of Castlevania content will be coming to the game on May 8, 2024.
