Castlevania Anniversary Collection Limited Run Games Physical Release Coming in 2020

A physical release of Castlevania Anniversary Collection was announced by Limited Run Games at its LRG3 streaming event on July 8, 2020. The game, a collection of Konami’s early two-dimensional Castlevania games, is slated for release later this year on both Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.

Castlevania Anniversary Collection includes Castlevania (NES), Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest (NES), Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse (NES), Super Castlevania IV (SNES), Castlevania The Adventure (GB), Castlevania II: Belmont’s Revenge (GB), Castlevania Bloodlines (Genesis) and Kid Dracula (Famicom). The game also saw release on Xbox One and Steam, but physical releases for those versions were not announced as part of the event.

Castlevania Anniversary Collection was initially released in May 2019 as part of Konami’s 50th anniversary celebration. Also included in this line were Contra Anniversary Collection and Arcade Classics Anniversary Collection, both focusing on 1980s and early 1990s releases.

Limited Run Games’ Twitch announcement stream, LRG3 2020, featured “nearly 40” game announcements by the company, including Grandia HD Collection, Garou: Mark of the Wolves and a Game Boy Color re-release of Shantae. It was originally announced for June 8, 2020 before a one-month delay.
