It appears that there are some Street Fighter 6 cross-play issues at the moment. While Capcom didn’t announce any sort of patch, it did offer some options to rectify the situation. At the moment, that means temporarily turning off cross-play “temporarily.” The company also didn’t explain why the issue is happening. Update: Capcom confirmed that cross-play is fixed.
Here are the exact directions for turning off Street Fighter 6 cross-play while issues are going on. In the cases of the Battle Hub, Casual Matches, and Ranked Matches, there are options that allow you to quickly disable cross-play.
▼Ranked Match/Casual Match
- Battle Settings screen → “Platform Permission Settings” → set to “Own Platform Only.”
▼Custom Rooms
- Enter rooms with people on the same platform as much as possible.
▼Battle Hub Switch
- Switch to “Lobby for Non-Crossplay.”
As a reminder, Street Fighter 6 does allow cross-play on all platforms. So someone on a console could be playing with someone on PCs.
Aside from the bug issue, Capcom also shared some data about the game’s played characters in Japan. In that region, Ken, Juri, and Marisa ended up being the most-used characters so far.
Street Fighter 6 is available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on June 2, 2023, and it will also eventually appear in arcades.
