Capcom Have Shipped 2 Million Copies Of Marvel vs. Capcom 3

While Marvel vs. Capcom 3 didn’t quite set the charts on fire in Japan, it was the second best-selling game in February in the U.S. Overall, it’s doing well, as Capcom have reported they’ve shipped 2 million copies of the game worldwide, since its mid-February release.

While we’d like to point out that those are 2 million units “shipped” and not “sold,” according to Capcom, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 has exceeded the performance of Marvel vs. Capcom 2, which itself sold over a million units. Capcom believe downloadable content in the form of new costumes and characters will help drive sales of the game further.

Capcom’s next major fighting game release appears to be Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, and the company also has Street Fighter x Tekken in development for release sometime in the future.
