Black Ops, Assassin’s Creed And Donkey Kong Were Amongst November’s Top Sellers

While it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Call of Duty: Black Ops was the best-selling game in November, it’s also now the 7th best-selling game of all time. Black Ops sold 8.4 million units at retail in a single month and accounted for 25% of all video game software units sold during the month.

 

The rest of the NPD top-ten for the month consists of a similarly high-profile games. November saw publishers striking out with the best they had. For Ubisoft, this consisted of Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, which took the #2 spot, followed by Just Dance 2 at #3.

 

Fable III for the Xbox 360 also turned up at #5, as did Donkey Kong Country Returns at #6. While Fable III got a head start by releasing in October, it’s rather impressive that Donkey Kong, despite being on a single platform, managed to outsell Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, which was on every current-gen home console on the market.

 

Following behind Hot Pursuit was another racing game — Gran Turismo 5 — for the PlayStation 3, at #8. The top-ten for the month of November was as follows:
