Boyfriend Dungeon appeared as part of the Nintendo Indie World Showcase for August 2021 looking at Switch games. But it wasn’t just a summary of the action-RPG with dateable weapons. Rather, it involved a release date. The Kitfox title is among the event’s shadowdrops. People will be able to find it on the eShop later today. (Update: It is available on the PC and Xbox One as well.)
In Boyfriend Dungeon on the Switch, people will head into the dungeon with different weapons. Except those weapons are also people or sometimes animals. You’ll go on these blind dates to fight, but also to get better acquainted with the characters. Also, the “boyfriend” part is only part of the story. Weapons can be any gender or species.
Here’s one of the older trailers for the game. It shows what it’s like fighting alongside a weapon. Then, it shows a transformation sequence for Seven, a Lasersaber you can date, and part of a date with him. However, only Seven, Isaac the Estoc, Sunder the Talwar, Valeria the Dagger, and Sawyer the Glaive show up there. It doesn’t offer peeks at more unconventional characters, like Pocket the Brass Knuckles–a cat.
Boyfriend Dungeon will be available on the Nintendo Switch via the eShop on August 11, 2021. It is also available on the PC and Xbox One. It began its life as a Kickstarter project, which raised CA$272,280 from 6,991 people.
