Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has gotten this month’s Kickstarter update, which shows off a pretty big QoL improvement in the form of equipment shortcuts.

While director Koji Igarashi did preface this update saying that players might not notice this feature in gameplay, it’s quite useful as you will be able to easily swap equipment loadouts depending on the situation.

For example, players can set equipment that resists fire as one slot, one focusing on attack or movement, and more. Furthermore, accessories are also saved as part of the shortcuts, so you could have Miriam wear different hats in each shortcut. Shortcuts are also usable with consumables, making for an easier time than going through the menu.

According to Igarashi, this feature has been requested for some time by players, and was added as a result. The Shortcut menu is easily accessed with Left Trigger (or Tab on keyboard), where you can then select an edited set to immediately swap to it.

Finally, Igarashi ended off by saying that the game is close to completion, and that talented staff have been added to this project to help out.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will come to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in Summer 2019. You can watch demo clips of the shortcuts inaction in the full update post here.
