Bloodstained Teases Polished Character Models And IGA’s Spoopy Halloween Costume In Monthly Update

Bloodstained has gotten its monthly update, and the team have revealed a new enemy, a behind-the-scenes look at the staff working on enemy placement, and a more polished model for Gebel. Plus, a Halloween costume for IGA himself.

 

Killer Barber – New Enemy

The Killer Barber does exactly what his name and design implies, attacking Miriam with his scissor arms. He attacks from the ceiling, using his arms to scale the walls. The team also teased that the Killer Barber has another, perhaps even deadlier, move.

 

IGA also showed off the staff working on enemy placement for Nightmare Mode. Here are his comments:

When I see the Nightmare Mode enemy placements, I always wonder if it’s okay to make a game this difficult. I’ve worked on enemy placement in games before, so I understand that the person making those decisions becomes more and more immune to difficulty level over time. I think that’s what’s happening to the team now—they’re getting a little vicious with it…

 

Finally, the Bloodstained team talked about the tweaks they have been making to character models over the months, with facial features as the main focus. Here’s Gebel as an example:

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will come to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in 2019. The game will be no longer getting a Vita version, which you can read about here.
