The promised Bleach Rebirth of Souls gameplay trailer is here and, as expected, it features Ichigo Kurosaki and Byakuya Kuchiki. It walks us through what a fight will look like, even showing how both character’s Bankai will appear in-game.

The gameplay trailer begins with Zangetsu asking Ichigo if he wants to fight and win or live. Ichigo then brings up how fighting for its own sake and survival are meaningless, stating he wants to win. From there, a narrator akin to the one in the Soulcalibur series sets the stage as Ichigo and Byakuya speak before a fight.

From there, a narrator describes what’s happening in the Bleach Rebirth of Souls fight between Ichigo and Byakuya. It notes that instead of health bars, there are Reishi Gauges to wear down. If one gauge is worn down, the enemy Konpaku goes down. Each player comes in with nine Konpaku, which their enemy must wear down to win a match. The Spiritual Power Gauge at the bottom of the screen allows for the use of Spiritual Pressure Moves. In the video, Byakuya’s displayed options are Seal: Senbonzakura and That Won’t Touch Me. Ichigo’s were All-Out Slash and Wielding. In addition, a Reverse Gauge allows for moves like Flash Step and Reverse Action when someone attacks or defends. As the battle goes on, someone can go into an Awaken state and use an Evolution to unleash their Bankai.
