BlazBlue Series Reaches 1.7 Million Sold Worldwide

Aksys are in the process of celebrating BlazBlue’s third-year anniversary in North America, and as part of the celebration, they’re kicking off a trio of contests from August through October. While contest details haven’t been announced yet, Aksys say you’ll be able to win a Jin body pillow, signed illustrations by the BlazBlue team, and a third-year anniversary BlazBlue banner for your wall.

Additionally, Aksys also revealed North American and worldwide sales for the BlazBlue series. Since their 2009 release on consoles, the BlazBlue games have sold over 800,000 copies in the U.S. and 1.7 million copies worldwide.

 

For the sake of comparison, Street Fighter IV (2009) has sold 3.1 million copies worldwide, while Super Street Fighter IV (2010) has sold another 1.8 million copies. Meanwhile, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (2011) has sold 2.1 million copies worldwide.
