Blasphemous Bloodstained Crossover Adds Miriam to the Game

A hero from one Metroidvania is heading into another. A free Blasphemous Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night crossover update will appear on February 18, 2021. Though, rather than a playable character, the announcement trailer makes it seem as though there will be a new area and ability for players call her in to attack with shards.

Here’s the Blasphemous trailer, which offers a bit more firsthand insight into the extent of the Bloodstained crossover. It shows an event scene where The Penitent One and Miriam meet, for example. It also shows The Penitent One exploring a new area and solving challenges that restore a Bloodstained-themed stained glass panel.

While that is a big part of the update, more is included. It showed the Boss Rush mode and some of the new render options people can use when playing.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night had its own crossover recently. In January 2021, Kingdom Two Crowns content appeared as part of a free update. It added a new area for Miriam to explore in Gebel’s castle. That same update also added the Classic Mode to the game.

Blasphemous is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and mobile devices.
