By Bitmap Books, publishers of retro gaming books, are currently Kickstarting Nintendo Entertainment System/Famicom: A Visual Compendium, a coffee table book that celebrates the pixel art and graphic design of the systems.
The 402 page book looks to showcase the best pixel and box art, as well as the visual design of the systems’ classic games. The screenshots will be the main focus of each page, with a small snippet of developer/artist quotes or words from known reviewers. There will also be longer articles on certain developers, as well as interviews with them, throughout the book.
Bitmap books has already published books on Super Famicom box art, classic arcade game artwork, and more. The Kickstarter for Nintendo Entertainment System/Famicom: A Visual Compendium has already smashed its goal of £25,000, raising over £100000 and climbing towards stretch goals that will continue to improve the book.
