Best Yunli Teams in Honkai: Star Rail Focus on Her Ultimate

Yunli in Honkai: Star Rail is a 5-star Physical Destruction unit who specializes in taunting and countering enemies, much like fellow 5-star Physical Destruction character Clara. Depending on who you run with her, Yunli will be able to greatly enhance the destructive power of your team while protecting more vulnerable characters.

Before we start, when setting up your teams, you should mind that you don’t put anyone too squishy next to Yunli. Since a big part of her kit involves taunting enemies to make them attack her, anyone in an adjacent slot is in danger. Please learn from my mistakes and don’t put someone like Tingyun at her side or you will suffer a restart in modes like Memory of Chaos.

Here are the best Yunli teams in Honkai: Star Rail

  • Yunli | Imaginary March | Pela | Lynx/Huohuo
A Yunli team featuring Imaginary March as a support-slash-DPS, Pela as a debuffer, and either Lynx or Huohuo as the sustain is very powerful despite how easy it is to set up. Pela is a fantastic support in general, as she can lower the DEF of all the enemies with her Ultimate. This in turn increases how much damage Yunli can deal.

As for Imaginary March, she works great with Yunli due to how Yunli can quickly charge March’s stacks through her Ultimate, which is her main bread and butter. Finally, Huohuo is good if you want to prioritize Energy or auto-cleanse. Meanwhile, Lynx is good if you want to increase the aggro towards Yunli.
  • Yunli | Pela | Tingyun | Lynx
In this team, Yunli works as the attacker, Tingyun and Pela are the support, and Lynx is the sustain. Tingyun’s main job is to help Yunli recover her Ultimate, as that’s where the bulk of her damage comes from. Meanwhile, Lynx can help Yunli receive more aggro. As mentioned above, if you’re going to use this team, or any team with relatively squishy characters, you need to place Yunli next to whoever has the most HP or highest DEF. Who that is will depend on your build.
  • Yunli | Herta | Tingyun | Lynx
Like the above two parties, this is a really easy team for you to put together even if you’re F2P. Herta is the sub-DPS while Tingyun and Lynx’s jobs from the above team remain the same. While you can get away with using Himeko if you know the enemies have a Weakness to Physical, Herta is way easier to bring around on the daily. Her follow up attack activates every time an enemy reaches below 50%, which is really easy with random encounters when Yunli is a monster with her stupidly high ATK.
  • Yunli | Robin | Jade | Aventurine
This is a follow up attack team in which either Topaz or Jade works as a second attacker with Yunli. Robin is the support and Aventurine is the sustain. While Yunli’s follow up attack only activates when an enemy attacks her, making it a bit less reliable than some of the other characters in the game, she more than makes up for it with her powerful counters. Because they’re all Blast attacks, this will help Jade charge her follow up attacks faster. This team is perfect for places like Pure Fiction where the more enemies you can attack and defeat at once, the better.
  • Yunli | Robin | Tingyun | Huohuo
This is a hyper-carry team focusing on Yunli, with literally everyone else acting as support. Huohuo is the sustain here and you can replace her with Lynx if you want to guarantee more aggro on Yunli. Though Ruan Mei is also a good option for those who have her, Robin is a little better for Yunli’s needs due to Yunli’s follow up attacks.

Honkai: Star Rail is readily available on the PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. You can only pull for Yunli in Honkai: Star Rail when the “Earth Hurled, Ether Curled” banner is active.
