Due to the nature of how Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae uses his Enhanced Basic Attack in Honkai: Star Rail, coming up with a team for him depends on who you have. Because he ideally uses up about two or three Skill Points every turn, he needs to be with characters who don’t fully rely on their skill. Here are some suggestions for teams that work well with Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae.
For starters, let’s quickly discuss Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae as a unit. He is an Imaginary Destruction character who can eat up Skill Points every turn to enhance his Basic Attack. At maximum, he can use three SP per turn. His Ultimate gives him Squama Sacrosancta stacks, which he can use in place of SP. Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae is one of the best DPS characters in the game. So he naturally wants to have a party that will help him boost his damage potential.
Teams you can consider for Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae are:
- Dan Heng IL | Yukong | Silver Wolf | Luocha
This team works the best if your Yukong is E6 just so that she can recover one of her stacks after her Ultimate (eliminating the need for her to use her Skill if you time things right). Silver Wolf helps to create an Imaginary Weakness in enemies that don’t have one. - Dan Heng IL | Ruan Mei | Pela | Huohuo
This is a Dan Heng IL hyper-carry team that does not purely focus on Imaginary. Because Huohuo is not a fantastic sustain, you can replace Pela with a Preservation character such as Fu Xuan. Ruan Mei is a good enough Harmony support on her own that you don’t necessarily need a second Harmony or a Nihility anyway. Ruan Mei’s Overtone lasts three of her turns, and Huohuo’s Divine Provision lasts two. In other words, once they get their stacks, they can focus on Basic Attacks. This’ll give more SP for Dan Heng to use for himself. - Dan Heng IL | Welt | Asta | Sustain
For this team, your Dan Heng should ideally have a 4-pc of the Banditry set because Welt is so good at Imprisoning enemies. This in turn will help Dan Heng deal more damage. Asta can give him more turns while your sustain keeps everyone alive. You could also replace Asta with another Harmony or Nihility character depending on your needs.
The general rule of thumb to follow when coming up with your own Imbibitor Lunae team is that his teammates shouldn’t use too many Skill Points. Ideally, they should all support him as well. In other words, putting him on a party with Blade (who is very cost-effective SP wise) or other main DPS characters was kind of a mess. His main weakness is that his defense is pretty bad. He’s kind of squishy naturally, and you wouldn’t build him for DEF anyway. Everything on his Relics should go towards raising his damage potential. With that in mind, you could also take one of the above teams and remove either the Nihility or the Harmony for a Preservation.
