Best Characters in Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat

While the roster of Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat is relatively small, some characters stand above others regarding their versatility and damage output. However, one thing to keep in mind with your line-up, which is the in-game party, is that you can have more than one of the same character in your group. So you could, theoretically, have three different versions of Dante in your line-up, each using a different weapon. That said, versatility is key, and characters like Lady specialize in knocking aerial enemies down.

Below are the best characters in DMC: Peak of Combat:

  • Lady – Spark Igniter.
    • What makes this version of Lady better than her standard version, Swift Arsenal is that she can add Fire Penetration to her attacks with Rapid Progress if your Style Meter is at S-Rank. This works great with characters like Nero, who rely on Fire Penetration to make the most out of his skills. In general, Lady is a great addition to any roster because of her high agility and ranged attacks.
  • Dante – Demon Hunter.
    • Probably the best free unit Peak of Combat gives you, Dante’s Demon Hunter version can decrease the targeted enemy’s Physical Defense by using Stinger by 20% for 16 seconds. Once you’ve used this and hit the enemy with that debuff, swap out to a character like Nero or Vergil to deal loads of damage.
  • Vergil – Devil Crusher.
    • Unfortunately, Devil Crusher is a great version of Vergil, with the only downside being that if you’re not rolling for it in the gacha, you can outright purchase this version for money. This makes it a hard recommendation since it will cost you roughly $10 to make the most out of Devil Crusher, but he’s one of the best characters for breaking shields and defenses in the game.
  • Vergil – Endless Judgement.
    • This is a no-brainer since Endless Judgement will give players access to Vergil as Devil May Cry players remember him in Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition. You get Judgement Cut, which inflicts bleed on enemies, and his raw damage potential is probably the highest in the game. Not only does he have a ranged attack that can take care of aerial enemies while you deal with the ones on the ground, but his Devil Trigger is a massive AoE that kills almost anything in its path.
  • Dante – Royal Guard.
    • While Royal Guard may require some technical finesse in the way of needing to Perfect Guard to build your Rage Meter, it still does a lot of damage with its dodge. Almost an unreasonable amount of damage. So if you don’t end up getting Vergil Devil Crusher, it could be worth attempting to get Dante Royal Guard if you’re more interested in building up your damage potential to then unleash it on your foes. This version of Dante is especially good for the Bloody Palace.
