Nitrome is known for its shiny pixel art and silly, fun game ideas. But with Silly Sausage in Meat Land the studio might have outdone itself. This is a game that gives you an achievement for sniffing your own dog butt.
In it, you play as Silly Sausage, who is a special dachshund on account of being able to stretch his tummy to ridiculous lengths – in fact, it stretches infinitely. But the problem is that Silly Sausage is in a dangerous place called Meat Land, where cutting instruments (blades and saws) put his vulnerable belly at constant peril.
So you need to stretch this zany dog through Meat Land without being butchered. And this is a game that, technically, only has one long level. There’s no transition between areas here, so you can complete the game in one go, if you’re good enough. But you probably won’t be, hence there being 50 restart points to make use of.
