Funimation have picked up the rights to distribute the Bayonetta: Bloody Fate anime film in the U.S. and Canada, the publisher announced today.

Produced by Studio Gonzo and director Fuminori Kizaki (Afro Samurai), the film follows the general story of the first Bayonetta game, but with a few changes.

Funimation say Kizaki will be a guest of honour at Anime Expo this year (July 3rd – 6th), where Funimation will give fans a “sneak peek” at Bayonetta: Bloody Fate’s English dub. The film will play at the convention, and Kizaki will hold a Q&A on Saturday, July 5th, at 8:15 pm.
