The Tekken 8 Closed Network Test gave select players access to the game for a limited time. PS5 players had two weekends in July 2023 to try the game out, while PC and Xbox players could only join them on the second weekend. The Closed Network Test is now over, but some players have gained access to the game after its closure date.

While Bandai Namco has been vague about the ways players have accessed Tekken 8 outside of its scheduled hours, the company has been clear about the consequences. As a violation of the Terms of Service and the Tekken World Tour Code of Conduct, players may be banned from participating in future official tournaments.

Here is the official statement:

Previously, Producer Katsuhiro Harada reminded players not to turn off cross-play functionality in the Closed Network Test. This would allow the development team to gain better feedback on the connection between systems and improve it. He also shared some of the positive feedback he’s received about the game from players who took part in this past test.

Tekken 8 is set to be released for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC at an unspecified date.
