Band Brothers DX is heavy on the classics

The downloadable song list for Daigasso! Band Brothers DX is promising. You have “Flavor of Life” from Utada Hikaru, the Eccentric Shonen Boy’s theme, and a Gundam song. All of the downloadable tunes won’t appeal to everyone and that is A-OK. The expandable music selection is diverse and it should have something for everyone. Great.

Unfortunately, the 31 announced songs on the cartridge aren’t as varied. There are five recognizable J-Pop tracks with an abundance of classical music. Mozart (Symphony No. 40 1^st Movement), Tchaikovsky (The Nutcracker Suite), and other notable composers are the bulk of the announced music selection on the Daigasso! Band Brothers DX cartridge. Nintendo attempted to diversify the music list by giving some compositions a modern twist such as Swan Lake Rock version and Liebestraum No.3 Samba version. However, the pre-packaged selection is tilted towards music you would hear in Carnage Hall.

Clever youngsters take note: you can use this knowledge and attempt to convince your parents Daigasso! Band Brothers DX is a mini Music Appreciation course.
